How We Review and Rank Appliances
At Greatest Appliances, we believe that smart buying decisions start with transparent information. Our recommendations separate what the manufacturer specifies, what retailers list, what owners report, what outside experts publish, and what Greatest Appliances has actually tested.
How We Compare Products
We use a documented comparison framework rather than presenting an unreproducible star score. The factors vary by category, but every commercial guide considers these seven questions:
- Exact product identity – We match the model, capacity, variant, image, listing, and evidence.
- Category fit – We compare the specifications that materially affect the intended use.
- Price and value – We compare current price signals separately from editorial update dates.
- Ownership burden – Cleaning, storage, consumables, replacement parts, and setup matter.
- Support and warranty – We consider verified warranty terms and parts availability.
- Owner-feedback patterns – Attributed comments can reveal recurring issues but do not prove specifications or universal performance.
- Evidence strength – Manufacturer claims, retailer data, outside testing, and our own documented testing are labeled separately.
Our Appliance Review Process
We research and compare appliances across multiple sources. Unless a review page specifically shows documented hands-on testing notes, our recommendations should be read as sourced editorial research rather than lab-tested results.
- Attributable owner-feedback patterns on retailer pages
- Manufacturer specifications and product pages
- Expert reviews and consumer feedback
- Documented hands-on testing where available
- Historical pricing and trend analysis
Are Your Rankings Influenced by Sponsorships?
No. While we may earn a commission from affiliate links if you make a purchase, we do not accept payments to favor a brand or product. Affiliate availability does not determine which products we select.
How Often Do You Update Rankings?
We update a guide when we meaningfully re-evaluate its recommendations, evidence, or buying advice. Price checks can happen more often, but a price refresh does not change the editorial update date.
Our Promise to Readers
We aim to make sourced product research easier to use. We show practical tradeoffs, state what we have not verified, and reserve hands-on language for products with documented test notes.
